How creator earnings work, payout rates, and how to withdraw your money.
1. Revenue Streams
SwitCity provides creators with multiple ways to earn directly from their fans:
Subscriptions
Fans pay a recurring monthly fee to unlock your full profile and exclusive content. Subscription prices are set by the creator. This provides predictable, recurring income.
Creator earnings: net of applicable fees
Pay-Per-View (PPV)
Lock individual posts or videos behind a one-time price. Fans pay once for permanent access to that piece of content, whether or not they hold an active subscription.

Tips & Gifts
Fans can send direct tips at any time - from a ₦100 appreciation to a ₦10,000 super tip on a live reel. Tips are a direct expression of fan support and require no exclusive content unlock.

2. Platform Fee
Creator earnings are the gross fan payment less the platform fee and, where applicable, an agent commission. Fees cover platform infrastructure, payment processing, content storage, moderation, customer support, and platform development. The transaction record and pending-payout schedule show the amount credited to the creator. SwitCity may change fees prospectively and will give notice of material changes as required by the Terms & Conditions.
3. KYC Requirement
Before a creator can initiate any payout, they must complete KYC (Know Your Customer) verification. This involves:
- Uploading a government-issued photo ID (National ID, passport, or driver's licence)
- Providing valid bank account details for payment
- Confirming age eligibility (18+)
KYC verification is typically completed within 1–3 business days. Creator payments continue through the normal seven-day pending period while KYC is under review, but no withdrawal can be requested until KYC and payout-account requirements are satisfied.
4. Payout Process
Creator payments move through two balances before a bank payout can be requested:
- Pending balance:The net creator amount from each new payment is pending for seven calendar days from that payment's date. Pending funds cannot be withdrawn.
- Available balance: After the seven-day period, the eligible amount moves to the available balance. This movement is not an automatic bank payout.
- Manual withdrawal: The creator must choose an amount from the available balance, submit the request, and complete the required confirmation. SwitCity does not automatically withdraw creator balances.
- Minimum payout threshold: ₦5,000 (subject to change - the current threshold is always displayed in your dashboard).
- Processing time: Payouts are processed via Bani after a valid manual request and typically arrive in the linked bank account within 1–3 business days. Bank or processor delays may take longer.
5. Refunds, Reversals & Adjustments
A refund, chargeback, duplicate-payment correction, fraud review, or other valid reversal may reduce or cancel the related pending amount. If that amount has already moved to the available balance, SwitCity may deduct the applicable creator portion from the available balance. Transaction and payout records will reflect completed adjustments.
6. Taxes
SwitCity does not deduct income tax on behalf of creators. You are solely responsible for declaring and paying any taxes owed on your earnings in accordance with the laws of your jurisdiction. We recommend consulting a tax professional. SwitCity may issue earnings summaries upon request to assist with tax filing.
7. Earnings Visibility
The wallet shows the available balance separately from the total pending balance. The Upcoming Payouts table lists each pending payment's source, net amount, received date, expected available date, and status. Payout history and income by revenue stream remain available separately. All figures are displayed in Nigerian Naira (₦).
8. Account Suspension & Earnings
In cases of account suspension or termination due to policy violations, outstanding earnings may be withheld pending investigation. Accounts permanently banned for zero-tolerance offences (CSAM, NCII, etc.) forfeit all pending earnings, which are redistributed or retained per our compliance obligations.
